WELCOME TO THE BRIAR’S BITE

A Dark Path

I’ve been mulling it over, and I’ve decided to give podcasting a shot. This blog will chronicle my journey, mistakes and all. It’s not about pleasing others or putting on a polished production. If I’m the only one that ends up getting a kick out of this, I’ll count it as a win.

Plenty of more talented people have ventured along this path before. I’ve devoured some stellar solo plays I’ve found on Reddit, the Mythic Game Master Emulator Discord, and other corners o the internet. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the tales spun by far more skilled storytellers. So why not throw my hat in the ring? Even if this story ends up not being up to par, the goal, for me, is to play, to explore, to dive into the unknown, and to see how the pieces fit together.

I crave unpredictability, contradiction, and the thrill of unraveling a mystery. I want to build a world that’s messy and complex, one where even I don’t know what’s around the next corner. It’s an experiment, a creative outlet, and a chance to push my own boundaries.

This story isn’t about perfection or bending to the will of an audience. I fully expect to stumble, to make mistakes, and to piss off more than a few folks along the way (if anyone even listens to this story). I’m not here to cater to anyone’s expectations but my own.

I guarantee that I’ll fuck up, that I’ll make choices that some will vehemently disagree with. I’m not looking for approval or validation. I’m here to explore, to experiment, and to find a story amidst the roll of the dice.

If you stick around, you’ll likely be in for a wild, bumpy ride. You might love it, you might hate it. I’m not here to play it safe or to please everyone.
